VIDEO: Masterclass Arsenal Women's 4-3-3 FM21 tactic

Arsenal Women currently find themselves on top of the FAWSL, playing 5 games with a 100% record. In attack, they've been eye-catching with some great performances, beating Chelsea 3-2 and Manchester City 5-0 to note. Impressively, they have so far scored the most goals with 19, more than doubling their xG of 9.1 and conceded the least with 2, putting them in a good position to claim the title that they last won in the 2018-19 season. Today, we'll be analysing their attacking performances and how it's worked so far.

Jonas Eidevall likes his players to always have options available, and he has introduced a pass-and-move mentality to Arsenal this summer to help with that. This has been demonstrated in their attacking play in the FAWSL so far, with Arsenal ensuring that there was always at least one player available to keep the attack alive. Per 90, Arsenal have so far created 27 shooting actions which is the 3rd most in the FAWSL but have created the most goalscoring actions per 90 with 5.40. Staying on the statistics, highlighting the attacking play, they have had the most touches in the final 3rd with 1005 touches in the opening 5 games and have carried the ball into the 18-yard box the most with 6.80 per 90.

Defensively, Arsenal have won 4.20 tackles in the attacking 3rd which is the most and highlights their somewhat aggressive press from the front and have had to make the 2nd least tackles in their own third of the pitch. They are a side that prefers to play out from the back rather than make clearances and again, this also shows up statistically as Arsenal have made the least clearances in the FASWL. big thanks to David Astill at Total Football Analysis with the analysis help as I added the statistics.
